Emily Jones (or better known as EJ) came to me at the age of 9 and wanted to be on my select team, Central Texas Crew. We were a 10u team that formed out of Georgetown Texas. At the time, it is fair to say that EJ's skills were limited and a product of the previous coaching. I accepted her on conditions. She had to come to my cage and learn how to field, throw, catch and hit as she had a lot of ground to make up. EJ did just that. We spent hours upon hours working on the process. Spending all that time working one-on-one, we grew close together and soon she became like a daughter to the family. It has been a pleasure to watch EJ grow up as a young lady and successfully as a softball player. It was an honor to be at and speak at her signing to the University of Texas Tyler. Her hard work, dedication and positive attitude has finally paid off. I look forward to watching her achieve her dreams playing on a college field. Thank you EJ for all the memories on and off the field and Good Luck in Tyler.
