Hitting is said to be the hardest thing to do in any sport. You have to hit a moving round object with a round bat and do it within an eighth of an inch of center. There are also other factors that are also involved. You have elements such as the wind, sun, clouds, night time, etc. You also have the pressure of trying to be successful at the plate depending on the count, runners, score, coaches, parents, teammates. That is why it is very important to learn the right way to hit and practice it over and over until it becomes muscle memory. Ever wonder how a professional can make it look so easy? Because to him or her, it is. He or she has hit so many balls in various different drills to where hitting becomes second nature to them.
I teach the rotational method of hitting. Using the core of the body, power of the legs and correct technique, I can help a hitter become a better hitter which in turn increases their confidence.
I also go through hitting counts and what pitches to look for. I teach the zones of the strike zone (up, middle, down, outside, middle. inside). I cover situational hitting; where to hit the ball and why. My hitters become proficient in small ball as well as being a consistent hitter.
My lessons are for 30 minutes and designed to cover several drills in each session. Many of the drills and sessions build on each other to keep the hitter progressing through each lesson.
