I have found recently that coaches are not developing their athletes, they are just using their current talent and skills to win games. If you can't perform, they will find someone who can perform. Coaches are not training performers. Their measurements are the hits at the plate and outs in the field, not how they do it (the process). However, in order to be a top performer and for recruiting, it's all about the process.
Productive training is out the window with most coaches. They complain about the skill level or lack of baseball/softball knowledge of their players but instead of training them, mentally and physically, they bench them and try someone else. Then when that fails they say they have run out of ideas. Or it is simply that they do not have time to teach the process and develop players. So they bring on new players and hope that the "old" players will quit after sitting the bench and not get the playing time they are deserved.
I have put together a Player Development Program that is designed to give your athlete the knowledge, skills, ability and confidence needed to play the game. Your athlete will focus on the process and develop their skills. How will you know if your athlete is developing and getting better? At the beginning of the program, each athlete will perform a complete combine testing to measure their ability. Then approximately every four to six weeks, another combine testing will be done to see where they have improved and where they need to.
The combine testing will include grip strength, overhand throwing speed, bat speed, hand speed at contact, ball exit speed, 20 yard dash, broad jump, pro agility shuttle and more.
So what can an athlete expect in the Player Development Program? There will be two workouts per week for two to two and a half hours. That is over five hours of workout per week. Baseball (all ages) and Softball (all ages) will workout on Mondays and Wednesdays. Each workout will have mental conditioning, agility training, and sprint training. The rest of the workout I will focus on the technical aspects of throwing, sliding, diving, hitting, fielding, knowledge of the game, etc.
The cost is $180 per athlete for 8 workouts. That is a cost of $11 per hour of specialized instruction including the combine testing. Another option is $100 per athlete for 4 workouts. Have a sibling? One athlete at full price and the second for $150 for 8 workouts or $80 for four workouts. Or maybe you just want to try it out one workout at a time? You can just attend one workout for $30 per athlete. If you like the workout, just pay the remaining balance on the option you want and become a member. I will provide a membership card and at each workout, the athlete will punch the card. If you have other plans such as a tournament, vacation, sick, etc., or if there is a rainout or cancellation it's okay. Instead of charging monthly like others, I only count the times you workout. However, it is strongly suggested you attend both workouts each week. For those that are starting their recruiting process, you can use the combine testing for that as well.
Price Breakdown:
$180 for 8 workouts
$150 for 8 workouts for sibling
$100 for 4 workouts
$80 for 4 workouts for sibling
$30 for 1 workout
